HELLO THERE
Breiterra was created out of an opportunity to sell biltong products to schools in 2013. At the time Pieter was not feeling challenged in his career path, and a change seemed like a good thing.
Being an entrepreneur would definitely prove to challenge him.
Initially Pieter drove around from school to school with his old Mazda 323 selling biltong wheels. However, he soon realised that he needed customers during the school holidays as well. From this realisation he decided to expand his product list to also include meat products such as chicken breasts which he could then sell to schools as well as restaurants who would buy throughout the year.
With the help of family and friends Pieter was able to find suppliers that would help him compete with some of the bigger names in the food industry.
In time, Pieter built good relationships and partnerships with his clients. So much so that he had to expand and hire staff to help him meet the growing workload and demand.
It has been a journey of growth, personally and in the business. However the risks that were taken prove time and time again to be worth the effort.
Six years later, and looking back it has not always been easy. Building your own business, nurturing relationships and maintaining a healthy family life is a balancing act.
We are excited about challenges. They help us grow and force us to stay ahead of competitors.
In the end our goal is to be a company that strives for integrity and quality in everything we do.
our products
BEEF
Our beef is sourced from carefully selected suppliers to ensure that the quality remains consistent week in and week out. Our steak cuts are matured between 21 and 28 days unless otherwise specified by the client. We sell in bulk or in individually specified portions all of which are vacuum packed.
chicken
We stock fresh or frozen chicken as well as crumbed chicken products. Our chicken is sourced from local suppliers however, we are able to source imported chicken on request. We receive our chicken products in pre packaged boxes of between 10kg and 18kg.
lamb
Our lamb is sourced from carefully selected suppliers to ensure that the quality remains consistent week in and week out. We sell whole lambs or in individually specified portions all of which are vacuum packed.
PORK
We stock a variety of quality pork products and offer a wide range of different cuts. For example, we have pork that is deboned or on the bone, raw or marinated ribs, smoked bacon, pickled eisbein and pork loin chops that are cut to the clients specifications to name a few.
GAME
Currently, the majority of our game stock is game fillet. For example, our ostrich fillet is a top quality product that is growing in popularity. Furthermore, while our other game fillet is subject to availability we are generally able to source a wide variety to meet the clients needs.
FROZEN CHIPS
We stock frozen chips in 7mm, 10mm and 12mm sizes and are able to source other frozen vegetables on request.
